Eliot

Eliot is the sweetest, calmest baby.

And today, he started saying Mama :) He is also saying "b" sound.

He will be crawling soon.

He has started waking up just once or twice a night. ...but he's woken up at 5 every morning.

I don't want to forget these things.

Update

I wrote my last post in November of 2012.  I was five months pregnant with Eliot, and I was obsessively worrying about having a second child and what impact that would have on Emerson.

That makes me laugh now.

It is now June of 2016.  Eliot is three years old.  He and Emerson absolutely adore each other.  Today, after cleaning up our lunch mess, I walked into the living room to find them cuddled on the couch together watching TV.  The transition to two children was so much easier than I ever expected.  Now, on the rare occasion when Emerson is the only child home, it actually feels very lonely and quiet.  I can't imagine her growing up without a sibling.  Or 2.

Because, not only is Eliot 3, but Whitman is almost 2.  We had surprise baby #3 in September of 2014.  That baby came with a whole new set of worries!

It's funny for me to read that last post, so full of worry about how Emerson would react to a sibling, when I think about our life now.  It's so full of noise and chaos and love and silliness - and I wouldn't change it for a thing.
